They were strangers in this world; the terrain was unlike anything that they’d ever encountered. They walked all day, afraid to look back, afraid that the ones who'd killed their mother and father would come after them and kill them too. They walked until it was dark and the little one's foot hurt too much. Then they lay down on the bare earth and shivered in fear of the strange night noises. Jack, volunteer Game Ranger and loner by choice since experiencing a personal loss, has his life turned upside down when he rescues two alien children from the clutches of Rhino poachers. He has to learn how to communicate with them, he has to find a way to make contact with their Mother-ship and when he does, he is presented with a disturbing situation. There are two competing alien races that are in competition to secure mineral deposits in the Solar System and unless Jack can somehow convince the United Nations to agree to a deal with one of them, the other will take what they want by force. And there is a deadline, Jack has fifty days. So begins the adventure of Jack and his alien foster children, to whom he has given the human names, Squeak and Grunt.
