John Daniel Johnson began his law enforcement career in Pike County, Alabama, in 2012. He holds numerous certifications, including Agency Information Security Officer (AISO), Field Training Supervisor, Drug Recognition Expert & Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Taser Instructor, Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor, Weapon Armorer, VirTra Operator, Body Language Instructor, FLETC Active Shooter Threat Instructor, Alabama Police Academy Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor, and Refuse to be a Victim Instructor.
In addition to his police work, John has been an ordained minister for over 25 years and has faithfully served Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Louisville, Alabama, since January 2018. He is also a highly decorated U.S. Army combat veteran, having served from 2001 to 2009, including tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom from 2005 to 2007.
"J.D." earned his Bachelor’s degree in 2004 and pursued graduate studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Liberty University. In 2023, he completed his Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University. He has authored six books and is an active member of the Free & Accepted Masonic Lodge #56, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
