Common Errors for Chinese Learners
This ebook may not meet accessibility standards and may not be fully compatible with assistive technologies.
The intended purpose of this book is to be used as an everyday reference towards self-improvement. There are no grammar rules or vocabulary lists. This is a collection of common errors seen in the span of over a decade (2010-2022) of teaching Chinese learners in Hong Kong. At the same time, here the learner will find a number of tips that might help them to better understand the mechanisms of the English language as well as the influence of the Chinese language when expressing oneself in English (what is known as Chinglish). The presentation of the content has been made as simple as possible: this book is a collection of photos, originally published on Instagram for the benefit of my students.
