Here is a collection of songs about our times, how they startle us, confuse us and threaten us. By turns comical, bitter, fantastical, poignant and dark, Dazed Dazzled Dead inhabits a world that confronts the threat of extinction. "The conflict between collective authority and personal freedom rises to an unbearable intensity." I wanted to write a simple book, something the reader will not find difficult to read. That meant using popular forms, many relating to songs and ballads, not far removed from the lyrics of popular culture.
