Lucy Malleson, who was born in 1899, was an active member of The Detection Club, a group of writers of detective fiction founded by G K Chesterton, whose membership included Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, Marjory Allingham, Ngaio Marsh and many others. Using the name Anthony Gilbert Malleson wrote 61 crime stories, most of them starring her lawyer/detective Arthur Crook.
Writing under the name Anne Meredith she wrote a further 22 novels set either in her own time or during the 18th and 19th Centuries, and these contain much of her finest literary work. She died in 1973.
This book, written by her nephew, provides an overview of all her books, and an entry point for reading more of them. 300 pages.
