Birds face a crisis as a new dam floods their territory. The author assigns responses to the birds, which are eerily human. By stretching the capabilities of bird flocks he suggests comparisons to real life human situations that resemble how legends and fictions grow out of crisis.
The heroes are one very special bird and a human that bridges the gap to understand his feathered friend. All flocks - friend and foe - play out an all too familiar scene that suggests how humans, which have a much greater capacity to think, are often victims of thinking below their capability.
The book is ideal for parents and guardians to convey the need for faith and action to the younger generation while encouraging rejection of false connections between faith and reality.
Failing the need to convey a message, it's just a good, fun fantasy read.
