This book is an expression of the emotions I have experienced during some of my
darkest times and an account of how I have used positive thinking and art to climb back
into the light. In these chapters, I use poetry as a way to deal with the daily hardships
throughout my journey, both mentally and physically. I feel that therapy can be helpful
for everyone, and sometimes that can start with writing down your thoughts and
emotions, even if no one but you ever reads it. Expressing our emotions is healthier
than bottling them. I put my experiences, faults, addictions and vulnerable moments on
display to show how writing has and always will be my main coping method. The
causes, symptoms or resulting reactions described throughout this book are mine
alone, but hopefully many people can relate and will find that expressing themselves
through writing or whatever medium they find most helpful will bring them the same
level of relief that poetry has brought to me.
