I'll Just Put the Kettle On

A short story collection: In times of grief, in times of joy, when friends arrive, when important decisions are being made, when nerves need to be settled and bridges rebuilt, there are rituals of welcome, peace, healing, memory and calm. It may not always be tea, and it may not always be boiling water. Still, we usually find a place to sit, gather, and allow the hospitality of the table, the cup, the steam, and the rituals of pausing, listening and refocusing to create the space for a kind communion. The welcoming of hearts as the world is stretched out and slowed down. We find our place with each other as the leaves unfurl. It is the model of our lives as we share our flavours and drink in the day.
