Today the Hagemann Ranch is a living museum devoted to preserving the last surviving remnant of a farm economy that dominated the Livermore Valley for over a century. But while the farm buildings and machinery now on display provide a glimpse into that past, no history of the Hagemann Ranch would be complete without recounting the stories of the men and women who built and worked it. The Mendenhalls, Luders and Hagemanns were pioneers and immigrants who spent their lives shaping the ranch and who were, in turn, shaped by it.
