Summer usually means fun in the sun, and a lot of relaxing, but after news of Dennis' leukemia diagnosis has been announced, things have taken on a more serious tone. During Dennis' first chemotherapy treatment, Jim has stepped up to assist Celeste and her mother as much as he can. In the midst of all of the concerning health issues, Jim finishes his driver's training, and even finds his first car.
