Hybrid images are NOT a simple transparency effect. They are, in fact, a quite new form of optical illusion discovered at MIT in the 1990s, and which exploit the way the brain processes information. Seeing the different words in the images requires only distance from the picture and, when carefully prepared, they always work. They require no special glasses, no hypnosis, and no other artificial aids. This ebook shows how to create your own hybrid text images using a free graphics software package called GIMP (the GNU Image Manipulation Program). It is a multi-step process into which you can slot your own messages. To help you, this short ebook also provides tips on creating the images, on selecting fonts, on using colour and much more.
