The Nebraska prairie was not always friendly, but it was home to thirteen-year-old Red. When his mother decides to remarry and move to town, Red is given one summer in which to decide whether he will follow her or stay on the family farm with his uncle.
Red's story is based on the memoires of Elmer "Pop" Rogers.
