Pain For Solace

A failed marriage, loss of a grandfather, broken relationships, the supposed "ups" of an active dating life, the very real "downs" of attempting to piece a life back together after catastrophic catastrophes. How does one begin to "pull it together" and move on from such damaging trials? I wrote poetry. Documenting, loosely, my attempt to understand and overcome my situation and latch on to any viable hope of optimism. And I found optimism via pessimism. In the end, I evolved, changing, making adjustments to me, in the face of what life had thrown at me. A phrase struck a chord with me, in my mindset, my new found outlook. "Dead is who I was." Optimism via pessimism.
