Chad just looked at me and didn't say a word, but based on his facial expression and past incidents it was implied to get out of the van. So I opened the door, got out of the vehicle and walked along the side of the highway back to the truck stop. Chad waited for a moment inside the van and then drove away. As I walked away, I felt like a large boulder was lifted off my shoulders and I was finally at peace. Could this be the end? No. For in that moment birthed a whole new life of freedom.
