Duriendë is a young centaur who is promised in marriage to the sorcerer Loscian. But she and the musician Eleodi fall in love, and search for a way to break the spell that holds her captive. In the port town of Turyet, Eleodi meets some sky sailors who fish for stars to use in their jewelry. He and Duriendë enlist their aid.

About Karen Deal Robinson

I have been writing fiction since I was ten years old, which was in 1966. I began publishing on lulu in 2004, mostly fiction, but also a couple of nonfiction books: "Letters from the Goddess" is about prayer journaling, and "Enemy Spies" is a history book for middle-grade readers. I also transcribed and published a memoir by my father-in-law, from taped interviews made before his death. It's called "Coal Miner's Son." It includes his childhood in a coal-mining town and his experiences in World War II. My early fiction was mostly fantasy, but I also have written magic realism and science fiction. My early fantasy became a four-volume series: "Firithyleleni," "Reunion in Lorliale," "The Last Song of Leleni Mihaien," and "Shantele's Star." The magnum opus of my later years was a magic realism saga called "Beyond the Wall." It takes place in the landscapes of my Colorado home, and the imagined landscapes of Heaven. My NaNoWriNo book, which I write while working full time, is called "Sea Star," and is a mainstream story about dealing with grief after the loss of a mother and finding joy in the process. Besides those, I have written many other stories and novels, while working full time as a mathematics professor at a community college, raising a family, playing several musical instruments, and hiking with my husband in our beloved Rocky Mountain National Park. I am a lifelong Unitarian Universalist, and much of that ethic has made its way into my work as well.
