William Lyra Clark is my eighteen year old neighbour. She’s my best friend’s daughter and my student. She’s completely off limits. She always has been, and always will be. It’s all I’ve been telling myself since I’ve begun noticing her in more ways than just one. But when I come across a letter, a confession rather, I slowly realise that Lyra’s begun noticing me. And with time, I learn to see Lyra in a different light. One in which she’s no longer my best friend’s daughter or my student. One in which I begin to see Lyra as more. When I move forward to ask for her hand-in-marriage, she agrees and says yes. It’s then that I realise who I truly am to Lyra. I’m her professor turned fiancé.
