This Chinese Folk song I found in the archive of Julius Schloss at McGill University. It is in a book of “44 Chinese folk songs” that Mr Schloss used as a source for his “ Chinese Rhapsody No 2 for Violin and Orchestra.” It is hand written and gives the notation in jianpu along with the Chinese words of the folk song. In an effort to make Chinese Folk songs easier for singers who do not speak Mandarin Chinese, I have published this version with my own piano accompaniment and with the original Chinese lyrics and the Pinyin pronunciation guide. In addition, there is an English translation by Wang Lingli.
