Nations go to war. Human beings go into combat. War is a media event. Combat is savagely personal. War will eventually recede. The media will move on. The memories of combat will remain with our troops for a lifetime. This book is for the families and friends of our troops returning from combat. Those who await the return of their loved ones know that something profound has happened to our troops. Friends and family want to understand and support and reconnect with them. When Our Troops Come Home is a description of a journey from combat back to a warrior’s culture of origin. For the loved ones of those returning it is important to understand the nature of this journey home.
