Schools don’t struggle because people don’t work hard enough. They struggle because work doesn’t always finish. Schools are full of effort, feedback, and activity, yet oddly short on proof. Lessons move on. Units roll forward. Drafts multiply. Everyone feels learning is happening, but when asked to show it, the evidence feels thin. That isn’t poor teaching. It’s a system under pressure. When time tightens, starting new work feels productive. Stopping to finish feels risky. So completion slips quietly. Not through neglect, but through reasonable decisions made too fast. This matters more now. AI accelerates starts. It improves drafts. It produces plausible output. What it doesn’t do is guarantee understanding. Only finished, reviewed work exposes whether thinking actually holds.
