It's Me, Dulcet Tones

It’s Me, Dulcet Tones is a fictional character study of a guy with an unusual name, Dulcet Tones. In many of the poems he does not speak in dulcet (soothing) tones. He can be ironic, flip, loving, and confused as he considers his family life and his life with his husband Ape. Most of the poems are written in free verse and can sound conversational, as if Dulcet is in the room speaking with us. The poems taken together can feel like many photographs, snapshots of different moments and people who have shaped who he is—or thinks he is.
