Kerrisa Maddocks’ project: reinventing the record deals with anachronistic popular culture. Using her own images, recycled images and found objects, such as vinyl records, she creates fictional artifacts and fake album covers. Kerrisa finds a new function for retro objects/images by placing them in new contexts, specifically different pop culture eras. Her fake album covers and installations sometimes act as “documentation” of her own cultural identity. Kerrisa Maddocks likes to think of the combination of different pop elements as pastiche.
