Evolutionary Science and the Catholic Church

This work seeks to show, though an overview of current scientific facts and theories, the philosophical framework of the methods of science and theology, and the doctrinal teachings of the faith, the extent to which Catholic Christianity and the strictly scientific theories of evolution can be reconciled and what questions are still to be answered. While careful distinction among the methods of empirical science, philosophy, and theology leads to the resolution of many objections to the compatibility of the science of evolution and Catholic theology, there are some aspects that will continue to cause tension.
