"A house built on bones cannot stand." This is a story about Lyra, a girl who sees the world in blueprints and vibrations. But mostly, it’s a story about trying to survive the people who are supposed to love you. Lyra’s family are "Bone-Eaters." They don't just take up space; they take up you. They’ve spent years feeding off her light, treating her like a battery to keep their own dark fires going. She carries something called the Inherited Ember—a spark that’s been passed down through generations of trauma and secrets. It’s powerful, it’s heavy, and it’s starting to burn her from the inside out. From the cold, quiet basement where she grew up to the ancient, sun-baked temples of Greece, Lyra is just trying to find a version of herself that isn't a ghost. She’s caught between two boys she loves, a secret sister who's fading away, and a religious war that feels like it’s screaming in her ears. But you can’t build a real life on a foundation of lies. To find her own voice, Lyra has to decide if she’s going to keep being a pillar for everyone else’s house, or if she’s brave enough to let it all burn down so she can finally build something of her own. It’s about the "hunger" we inherit and the "peace" we have to fight for. In a world that’s way too loud, sometimes the quietest person is the only one actually holding everything together.
