Intimacy: God created it, Satan perverts it and Hollywood cashes in on it. Face it—we are suckers for a good love story. Its sheer magnetism draws us like a moth to the flame. True intimacy was created by God for His pleasure. To quote my daughter Leah Katherine, “Why did God create us: Because He just didn’t want to be lonely anymore!” Leave it to a five year-old to sum up intimacy so beautifully. Amazingly, God then gives us the opportunity to share that same intimacy with our loved ones: parents, grandparents, spouse, children, grandchildren, best friends, etc. Intimacy derived from any other source except God is a counterfeit and a cheap imitation at best.
