This is the book I wish I had when I was diagnosed with cancer.
There are many many cancer books out there. Lots of survivors have documented their journeys and those are all terrific resources I’m sure, but when I was diagnosed I simply didn’t have the stamina to read someone else’s memoir. I wanted a realistic idea of what I had ahead of me: in a short and easy-to-digest format, indexed so I could find the most relevant parts, with funny anecdotes, helpful tips, and also just a warts and all guide on what to expect.
I wrote that book.
Cancer is serious stuff. But it also lasts a very long time even if things go well. I don’t think anyone should be that serious for that long. It’s not healthy. If laughter is medicine, then please enjoy the tips in this book on how to play the cancer card, how to get the most out of your diagnosis, how to laugh at yourself, how to make it through when you feel like you won’t, and generally how to look on the bright side of cancer.
