Kelly Garett has been writing since an early age. When in school, he wrote stories plagiarized from what he had been reading at the time, and sold them to his friends. This was not popular among his teachers, and he was forced to return his profits when this was discovered. In the 1980s, KJ began writing mainstream suspense and horror fiction, under his own name as well as under several pen names. . He went to collage to fine tune his art. During this period, KJ began a number of novels. One of them told the story of a young girl that could see Ghosts. Frustrated with it, he threw it into the trash. Later, he discovered that Annie had rescued it; she encouraged him to finish it as “Megan's Gift.” At this time, he lives with his wife Annie and their pets in the Denver, Colorado area, where he tutors kids and young adults on how to write books.
