As the distractions presented by the holographic projections of the movie monster and the physical props from the ad campaign are finally cleaned up, more bodies come to light. Seven bodies in four days was a lot for anyone. As the investigation progresses, Nikki begins to divide the victims into two clear sets, suggesting two distinct killers— at least. Alongside that, things from her distant past, things she’d long since forgotten about, bubble up and attempt to distract her from the pressing investigations. As the black sheep of the precinct, though— long story— she’s short on help. With Halloween right around the corner, can Nikki solve the cases and get the killer, or killers, off the streets before they’re flooded with potential victims?
