How can an architect enter into a developing community and design well so that when the architect leaves, the project and community remain self-sustaining?
This book documents the exploration of my senior architecture thesis on self-sustaining architecture. I designed rainwater catchment structures that not only meet the fundamental need of water in the community, but also generate community and attract local businesses.
The book includes two parts: my thesis prep and research as well as my design process and final design.
