Dark Lake

The world is against Gwendolyn Faust, or so she seems to believe. Faced with the loss of a first love, both parents, and struggling to reconcile her dwindling faith in God with the free will she hopes exists, she no longer sees the point in living. Escaping reality by exiling herself to a secluded lake, Gwen meets a nefarious yet alluring fire-haired girl who offers the gift of free will in the form of an enchanted ruby necklace. She rides the high of the rich and famous just long enough to realize that nothing made easy comes for free. A benevolent presence tries to save her from herself, but belief and faith first have to come from within, and it may just be too late for Gwendolyn Faust.
