Through the Fire

An epistolary novel, Through the Fire is the story of Clary, a young woman born and raised in Salem Springs, a small town deep in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. While attending a revival in a neighboring town, she is dismayed when an evangelist prophecies that she is about to go through the fire. Even though she can imagine no trial greater than that of her recently broken heart, she is determined to do whatever it takes to hold on to her faith, even if it means giving up college and marrying a man she doesn't love.
