Bread Crumbs in Mobius Space

Humankind is bifurcating, diverging into two distinct branches. For millennia a thin strata of intellectually gifted people has existed, but in small numbers, too small to significantly affect anything beyond their grasp. However, with the huge increase in population in the 20th Century, this thin stratum has increased sufficiently to challenge the nature of reality itself. All that's needed to break free into the Greater World is for these isolated groups of Mentors to link into a global gestalt. But there might not be enough time. For early in the 21st Century a huge asteroid is discovered on a collision course with the Moon, spelling doom for both branches of the human family tree. Jamie Southard must collect a group of highly talented minds to speed the Mentor linkage along, racing against the forces of nature and man to complete the evolution of a new human race.
