Explore the rich history of St. Anthony's Catholic School, a Roman Catholic parochial school established in 1917 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The school was operated by the Sisters of Divine Providence, and attached to the parish church of the same name, under the care of the Redemptorist Order. The school finally closed in the spring of 1970. This book details the history of the school, from it's founding during the Oklahoma Oil Boom, to it's closure after the Second Vatican Council. The author employs historical aids such as parish records and newspaper articles, as well as personal interviews and testimonies to help tell the story of this small town Catholic school.
