A Reflection of Home

A Reflection of Home features photographs taken mainly in and around Wellington, New Zealand & Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North East of England. It explores the concepts of home, memory & perception. “Being an ex-pat, my perceptions of my old home, in the UK & my new home, in New Zealand often seem to be a reflection of each other. My memories of the North East are coloured by my experiences in New Zealand & my perception of New Zealand is influenced by those memories. ”These photographs represent a personal response to my environment & were not taken with any real plan or particular themes in mind. However, when viewed together, I feel they do represent a certain perspective on memory, home & the relationship between our past & present.”
