The Bad American

Charles Matthews is a contract killer. His most recent contract (cool a gangster in Brooklyn) has unpleasant developments. So he is forced to flee, and think to go back to Italy, in the nest of his ancestor. But he discovers that the last distant relative, is a woman and moreover a cop . He keeps a low profile. However, the strong sense of family that is in the DNA of every emigrant, forces to help his cousin Teresa. So, he becomes a police aide. Indeed, in a dangerous situation saves the life of a police officer. It ends up in the newspapers, and the cronies of the gangster killed begin a hunt. The gangsters try to have him extradited in US by the Italian courts, but without great success. So, he starts to flee, hoping to confuse the tracks. But the big headmoney that the gangsters have put on him, does wonders. So they capture him and take him back to the US. He will have to make use of all his intelligence, and a costly aid - a sort of life insurance - to be able, after long ordeal, to vanish.
