Under Nebraska Skies

For five years Calvin Hawk's companions on the trail have been his buckskin, a .44 Remington, and the yipping of coyotes when he made camp. Since he and Earl Lasher parted company after a bad shooting in '74, he's ridden alone. He yearns for a place of his own, someday. Now, he has a job to do. Not one he's looking forward to, but it's his responsibility just the same. When he rides into Rock Bluff, Nebraska, it doesn't look so bad. But Hawk has no doubt, this task could be the death of him.
