Worlds Divided Fern is a teenage girl living in an unnamed utopian society where the rich, known as “highs”, and the poor, known as “lows”, are very segregated. She has spent her whole life under strict control of her father, who doesn’t allow her to speak to any people her age. Her longing for a companion eventually catches up to her, so she sets off to make a friend. The only problem is, she befriends a low, which just so happens to be one of the biggest violations of her dad’s commands. Grief The day has finally come: teenage Maddie’s first birthday without her mom. What used to be a day of celebration, tradition, and surprise has now become a day of misery, pain, and regret. Maddie’s birthday initially seems like the worst day in her grief journey until she is given a sweet surprise! Layla After months of desperately waiting out hope, Piper’s missing friend Layla is found dead in a local park. The important question, “what happened to Layla?” has finally been answered. Layla assumed this information would bring her some sort of clarity, but that couldn’t have been farther from the truth. So many questions were still left unanswered.
