From the Cotton Patch to the Pulpit

The 20th Century was young when Lola Marie Wheeler was born to a cotton farmer and his sickly wife in rural Mississippi. You will see through Lola’s eyes the growing pains of a nation, changing from a heavily agrarian society to a strongly urban nation. Her generation saw the United States progress from horses and buggies to space ships. Through her you will feel the want and need of the great depression, the excitement of the 1927 Mississippi flood, the heartache of blended families when death has separated and there is no love to heal. Like an unfolding flower, Lola develops from a shy, insecure, young cotton picker to a bold minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, who prays and miracles happen, who preaches and people’s lives are changed.
