In all knowledge, a king should ascend the throne of Westafallen, Mirleen presents, but 'no', the lords shall not want. For, after the death of King Nestafel, Mirleen fell ill, leaving Magenta to keep the castle of Westafallen. The lords of Westafallen gathered before the castle of Hammersmith warring themselves with great anarchy. Of the lords which came, Earl Douglas VI was of a great fix to overcome the castle. Knowing this, Magenta secretly sent messengers to bring his brother Ramsey. Round and far they traveled to fetch Ramsey in Vermiert, also telling him of the desolate way of Oldenbrooke. He went with the messengers, first to Oldenbrooke, where his people made him king of Oldenbrooke. From Oldenbrooke, he gathered men to save Magenta in Hammersmith. On getting tho Hammersmith, the old rivalry between the Rahms and Earls once again erupts to a very great and hideous height. Yet in the end, after several wars, Earl Douglas VI and the lords agreed on the terms that if Mirleen is alive, she shall have to choose one from them, the lord, whom shall be king whereas she becomes the queen, of course when she's fit from her illness. It was proven as Ramsey had said.
Mirleen upon a day was fit from her illness. Wherefore, according to the pact made when she was ill, a banquet was made. In the banquet, the lords came with high gifts meaning to buy Mirleen's favour. However, after the event, Mirleen ended up not choosing any one amongst them, and she had done so, in an ugly fashion by which her epithet came from; giving the ballads something to sing for.
To become the golden queen, Mirleen aligned with Ramsey, who offered her his warmen. Also, Mirleen had acquire the warmen of Greengierland from the monks. From the men she assembled, she gave some towards Hendes to destroy it and recover the royal diadems of queens, which King Nestafel took, and had given to his fair queen, Suncie. Not wanting war, Queen Suncie gave back the royal diadems. Again, Mirleen took it in an odd fashion.
Mirleen was king, but the fame of Ramsey, king of Oldenbrooke, exceeded hers. In the bid to get Ramsey rescind from bearing the kingly intitule, Hammersmith was made to war Oldenbrooke; Queen Mirleen against Ramsey. The war went for years, but Ramsey knew war very much that he was to prevail; having pursued the queen's armies back into Hammersmith. But a strange thing happened: Mystique.
