About The Sweet Solitude - Lue

Heather "Lue" Smith started her journey in Pittsburgh, Pa. Her formative years proved to be a tumultuous time. She had to deal with the death of her father at the age of 3 months and at 12 years the suicide of her step-brother. To help cope she turned to music, singing and writing. This afforded her a modest career as a singer-songwriter and performer. In high school she adopted the stage name “Lue” which is a play on her middle name Louise. While enrolled at the Art Institute, she lived with a large group of musicians on the University of Pittsburgh campus. Many of her former roommates have gone on to have successful careers in the industry. Her interest in Eastern Philosophy, meditation and yoga is a main focus in her life. Smith has traveled across the country and attended retreats led by prominent spiritually leaders. After years of practice, she received a certificate in yoga at Amazing Yoga in Pittsburgh. Smith has also worked on several movies including Wonder Boys, that filmed in Pittsburgh in 1999. She was in many scenes that where ultimately cut from the final edit. Her musical performance ranges from Showtime at the Apollo on Tour, singing the national anthem, theatre, commercials and simple acoustic shows. Lue has also been known to pop by an open stage or karaoke while visiting a new city. Although her content may come across as dark and heavy; Lue has a wicked dry sense of humor.
