Hi, my name is Luis A. Perez a social worker, pastor, professor, non-profit leader, and community activist of Puerto-Rican descent who grew up in Rochester, NY.
I have contended for many years that as marginalized, and often ignored community members (Latinos), we need to capture our stories and rich legacies. Otherwise, our journey and contributions will never be told, or even worse, will be retold lacking key perspectives, contextual aspects, and often accuracy.
As such I have been working on publishing my stories, and the works of my family. On my spotlight page you will find a book of my son’s poems, a compilation of my father’s 200 songs and poems, and Volume One of my short stories.
I also assisted my wife publish her daily devotional on Lulu. You can find it on Lulu under Pamela Rose Perez, and the title is: Timeless Truths for Those Who Don't Have Time.
I hope my stories, and our collective work, make you smile, causes you to reflect on your own journey, and to appreciate the power of family, faith, and community.
