Canada meant a whole new world for her-new language, new country, and new lifestyle all together. The language was the most difficult part, and as she ended up in a shoe factory, it was tough to understand what everyone was saying. Although working in a shoe factory wasn't in the plans for her future. Later, Maria entered in retail as a saleslady and remained until back in 1995, she realized that a grade 12 diploma was necessary in order to apply for positions of a higher level. Maria took the step one more time to enter the education system, ending up in an adult center and trying to complete whatever was necessary to get the diploma. Once more, she managed to accomplish part of her dream hidden in a drawer many years ago. Along with a husband, three children, and a house to look after, she discovered the beauty of escaping into the world of romance and started to write. After all, life is full of challenges, and they never end.
