searching within...I discovered me

Growing up gay and isolated in a small midwestern town proved to be a bit of a challenge. Who to trust? Where to turn? Who to turn to? Should I listen to my own voice? Am I alone? I feel this collection speaks to those who grew up sheltered, wondering if this kind of love is normal. The following poems are the result of years searching within for answers. Whether gay or straight, all can relate to the emptiness and hurt one feels searching for someone to love.
