The Deciphered

The late 1990s and early 2000s were a time of transformation. Cryptographic techniques were moving from niche academic pursuits to the forefront of digital security, underpinning everything from internet commerce to state secrets. In this era of burgeoning possibilities, I became fascinated not only by cryptography’s practical applications but by its artistic potential, the ability to encode stories, poems, and ideas in ways that felt almost alive. I wrote this eBook not just as a challenge for you the reader, but somehow as a guide but also to showcase my creativity directed towards encryption. Each cipher presented here is a synthesis of mathematics, logic, and storytelling—a kind of intellectual maze that mirrors the complexities of thought itself. These ciphers were born (1998-2005) from a desire to push the boundaries of what could be hidden, what could be revealed, and what lies in the space between.
