Conversations with a Cadaver

The road to salvation can be a bumpy one. When the down-and-out woman laying on the gurney took her own life, she had given up any hope of entering through the pearly gates. There had only been one bright spot in her otherwise wasted existence and she envisioned only more heartache ahead. Before she swallowed a handful of pills, she left a handwritten note donating her remains to medical science. In the process, she became the centerpiece of a first year medical anatomy class that would slice, dice, and explore the workings of her body. She was labeled “Cadaver C475,” but the students dubbed her “Mrs. Beasley.” Little did she know these up-and-coming doctors would become her confidantes, and that through thought transference, they would share “conversations” that would reveal surprising secrets and powerful truths.
