Building relief efforts in Haiti must utilize a new approach that integrates infrastructure, dwellings, and social communities. The local population must be enabled to play a primary role in both the design and construction of this new type of architecture, which must be able to adapt to unique sites and be implemented incrementally over time into existing conditions.
