Nothing Worth Losing
Hungary, 1914. Péter Szabó is eighteen years old, an orphan with nothing to his name and no one in the world who would notice if he disappeared. When the war comes he enlists without fear, because fear requires something worth losing.
What follows is four years on the Eastern Front with the Austro-Hungarian army, fighting in the frozen trenches of Galicia against an enemy he has more in common with than he does with the empire he is fighting for. Péter expects the war to finish what life already started. He does not expect Gábor.
A story about what it costs to let someone in, what it means to lose them, and whether a man who starts with nothing can find his way to something worth keeping.
