Montrose 360
A Circumnavigation of the City of Montrose Colorado
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
On the far Western Slope of Colorado lies the riparian Uncompahgre River Valley, ringed by mesas, deep canyons, thick forests, and adobe hills, all crisscrossed by hundreds of miles of trails. Anchoring the Valley is the historic town of Montrose. Often overlooked, there is a growing consensus that this may just be one of the best places in the country for outdoor recreation. With so much public land so close it was only a matter of time before a circumnavigation route was going to be developed.
The Montrose 360, or M360, is a route completely encircling the town of Montrose, Colorado. A long and ambitious route, with a variety of challenges, from desert canyon singletrack to thickly forested ravines to little explored jeep roads, all spiced with water crossings and route finding you might expect much farther from a good local brewery. Most will enjoy the M360 broken up into sections while a hearty, well trained and well prepared few may choose to complete its 106+ miles in a single push.
Designed for travel by foot and bicycle, this is a challenging route that will reward those who complete it with a rarefied view of the variety and beauty of the Montrose valley.
