Verna Dean Greene was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1958. She experienced many hardships through family and economical life.
In 1999, Verna Dean Greene was involved in a work accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. She went through multiple surgeries and evaluations through the court in order to get proper housing and insurance money to help pay for her intensive care.
Through these times, Verna was known to many as mean and difficult. To those who knew her best, they saw her for who she was under the rough.
This book covers over 20 individuals memories of Verna and gives a more rounded view of who she was. This book was written to honor her memory.
