Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
A reprint of Thomas Dixon's popular romance novel set during the turbulent days of Reconstruction in South Carolina. Written in 1905, it became the most widely read novel in America until eclipsed in 1936 by Margaret Mitchell's "Gone With the Wind." It became the basis for the 1915 silent movie, "The Birth of a Nation," the first feature-length silent movie epic, and the most successful silent movie ever made. Controversial, both the book and the movie were banned up North, but the masses swarmed to see it, making Thomas Dixon a millionaire. This printing is a faithful reprint of the original, complete with all photographic illustrations. All the type has been reset in a clear font similar to the original 1905 hand-set type.
