America Love It or Leave It

"America Love It or Leave It" is a Viet Nam-era version of Antigone, originally staged at the Elder Avenue Playhouse in the Bronx in 1975...In the violent summer of 1968 in a farmhouse on the US-Canadian border, an immigration agent and his children wage an ancient struggle. The oldest son in the family, Pete, is on his first solo flight from a nearby air base and will soon fly right over their farmhouse. The younger son, Eddie, is helping draft dodgers go through the family's backyard directly into Canada and continually threatens to join them. Until today, seventeen-year-old Andrea could not find the strength to break free from her father's overbearing control.
